BIOGRAPHY

Served September 2012-September 2017

Qumi E. Kimble was born in North Hollywood, CA but grew up in Northridge, CA. Qumi served in the United States Navy. She wanted to be able to serve her country gain medical experience, and be able to travel the world. She served for 5 years in active duty and 3 years in the reserves. She reached the rank of E-5 or HM2. HM2 Kimble worked as a Hospital Corpsman. She has served in USS Carl Vinson CVN-70 in Coronado, CA and Yokosuka Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan. On the ship HM2 Kimble was an un-designated seaman and worked in the Deck Department with the Boatswain’s Mates. Among standing countless hours of watch, she qualified in areas such as inner & outer ship preservation, underway fuel and cargo replenishment, anchoring evolution’s, line handling, man overboard search and rescue, helmsman, etc. At the hospital she cross trained in the fields of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Labor and Delivery, Gastroenterology and Otolaryngology tending to the medical needs of Sailors, Marines, and their families.

Currently Qumi Kimble is in Northridge, CA and is Navy Reservist at NOSC Ventura County Medical Department. She left the service in order to help take care of her parents and she was pretty mentally, physically, emotionally,  and spiritually exhausted and ready for new endeavors. She works at a group home empowering differently abled individuals with a wide range of physical and intellectual disabilities to live their best lives.  She is currently working on her personal trainer certification and is an entrepreneur herself. Qumi would like to model for Under Armor one day. On her “normal” days she likes to go walking, listen to audio books, running, hiking, biking, working out, book clubs, puzzles, wine, food adventures, and play acoustic guitar/ukulele. Qumi Kimble is the middle child with two brothers. She is half black and half Mexican, or as she calls it “Blaxican” and has the most lovable and cutest 13 year old Schnauzer named Vito!
